Black Walnut Hair Dye!

Introduction

Lately I've been on an all natural kick, and being as i'm allergic to hair color and am sooo sick of bleaching my hair. I researched ways to color your hair naturally and have seen a lot of buzz about dyeing with black walnuts. They can also be used to make your own ink, fabric dye, henna tattoos, whatever your little heart desires. Not just any walnut though (I've tried regular ones from the store, expensive and results suck). They grow on trees and when they fall off the trees they look sort of like crab apples. And unless you wanna eat the walnuts, the walnut itself is useless to you.

How to do it!
First I cut the walnut hulls open, peeled them (similar to the way you would peel an orange), and boiled them up. I only boiled them until the water was black and then refrigerated the walnut hull juice until it was about room temperature.. enough not to burn me, mixed it up with conditioner (any conditioner will do), and slapped it on all over my hair. I blow dried the mixture on and left in on for about an hour. Now remember, my hair is very porous from having curly hair and bleaching for years, you may wanna throw on a shower cap and sleep with it on for the best results. Then when your done shampoo it out  and style as usual!

Reviewed!
Before & After not a huge difference but a nice, subtle, more natural looking blonde.

Try it for yourself!
